This class introduces 6th grade students to the artistic concepts of two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. We learn various methods of art making through the lens of art history. Students gain exposure to different types of media, techniques, and methods from hands on knowledge. We look at various cultures and art movements to gain visual inspiration. The focus will be primarily on making art and learning the elements of art and principles of design.

In this 7th grade class we learn the visual aspects of
the drawing medium. Students will use their perception
to develop better drawing skills. Gradually, students will learn how to sense lights, darks, texture, pattern, and planes. The drawing curriculum will foster reflexive thinking, develop discipline, and problem solving skills.

This class introduces 7th and 8th grade students to the artistic concepts of three-dimensional forms. Students gain exposure to special tools, techniques, and methods from hands on knowledge. Looking at various movements, cultures, and artists to gain visual inspiration and insight to the art of sculpture. The focus will be primarily on making clay pottery and sculptures, but also mix media such as wood, plaster, paper, and found objects will be utilized.

This 8th grade course leads young minds into a world of visual exploration. We look at different artistic techniques and vocabulary to gain knowledge and insight. Through hands on lessons and projects, students are encourage to enhance and develop their own artistic expression in both two and three dimensional forms.
